Bee Control & Removal

Bees are small, winged insects known for their critical role in pollination and their production of honey. Though tiny in size, bees are incredibly powerful contributors to our environment and agriculture, supporting the growth of flowers, trees, and crops through their pollinating activities. With over 20,000 different species of bees around the world, they represent one of the most diverse and ecologically important groups of pollinators on the planet.

One of the primary roles of bees is pollination. As bees travel from flower to flower collecting nectar and pollen, they inadvertently transfer pollen grains between plants, enabling fertilization. This process is crucial for the reproduction of many flowering plants, including about one-third of the food crops that humans consume. Without bees, the availability and diversity of fresh produce would dramatically decline, affecting everything from apples and berries to almonds and coffee.

There are many different types of bees, each with its unique behaviors and habitats. Some of the most common species include:

  • Honeybees (Apis mellifera): Known for producing honey and living in large colonies, honeybees are social insects that play a significant role in commercial agriculture.

  • Bumblebees (Bombus spp.): Larger and fuzzier than honeybees, bumblebees are excellent pollinators of wild plants and crops, especially in cooler climates.

  • Carpenter Bees (Xylocopa spp.): Named for their habit of boring into wood to build nests, carpenter bees are solitary but efficient pollinators.

  • Mason Bees (Osmia spp.): These solitary bees use mud to build their nests and are highly effective pollinators, especially for fruit trees.

  • Leafcutter Bees (Megachile spp.): These bees cut pieces of leaves to create nest cells, contributing significantly to pollination despite their solitary nature.
