Animal rescuers are seeing a huge spike in calls and they say it will not slack up once the water goes away.

A wide variety of misplaced critters are now at the Texas Wildlife Rehabilitation Centers. Executive Director Roslyn Evan says the weather is keeping her staff very busy.
“They’re injured,” she said. “They’re coming in with maggots, wounds. They’re wet, they’re cold, they’re hungry, they’re starving — lots of problems. We got slammed starting earlier this week, and it really didn’t let up.”
